Fabulous Fred

Fabulous Fred by James ‘Butch’ Tanner (Hong Kong) is a short classic picture book for children aged 4-9 years old. Written in a very classic manner, the illustration was approached from a naïve folk-art inspiration and mixed with modernized characters, that would be relatable to a child of 21st century, contrasting night-time action with serene farmland sceneries. With resemblance to English countryside. Mr. Tanner was happy with the results and extremely easy to work with, leaving us a lot of space for personalization of his story with our visual interpretation.

Lucy's Bedtime

Lucy’s Bedtime by Jana Slobodova (Scotland), was briefed to be cozy, dream-like bed time story. When softly spoken by the reader at a gentle pace, each spread aims to invoke a feeling of sleepiness and calm with the scenes with the scene incorporating little to no action. This literary piece was mostly compiled of simple descriptions, and thus the focus of the illustration is not dynamic, but rather decorative and gentle.
